In the hills of Southwest Virginia, the art of Appalachian Music has been passed from generation to generation each taking a new approach different from their predecessor, and Brandon Maggard is no exception. Brandon is a third generation Appalachian Songwriter, obtaining most of his inspiration from his family that has been a pillar to regional music for years and years. Brandon covers the musical spectrum with his Appalachian inspired originals and some modern covers with a natural Appalachian twist that is always sure to please.
Stephen Murray is a Canadian born singer songwriter who resides in Big Stone Gap, VA. After touring the country for over a decade with his band “Holy Ghost Tent Revival” Stephen took a break from the music scene to begin recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. Sober since 2019, he’s back on stage with a new perspective on love, life, spirituality and songwriting. He’s the 1st place recipient of the 2023 songwriting competition from Gathering in the Gap and is signed with Soul Step Records.
Roxanne McDaniel is a singer/songwriter and dulcimer player based in Johnson City, Tennessee. A graduate of East Tennessee State University’s Bluegrass Program, her music incorporates elements of traditional music with country and rock. She’s become known within the dulcimer community for her precise, driving playing style. When she’s not performing, she’s teaching and promoting the instrument. She leads a dulcimer-oriented after school program in Johnson City, teaches private and group lessons, and is the host of “Outside the Box” on WBCM Radio Bristol 100.1 FM.
The White Brothers, Trevor and Cody, hail from the Possum Creek community of beautiful Scott County, Virginia. Growing up in the shadow of the Clinch Mountain, they were introduced to the sounds of the Carter Family, the Stanley Brothers, Jim and Jesse, and many others from an early age. Their sound can be defined as traditional bluegrass and mountain style country folk music, with a special emphasis on the sacred songs of the past. Inspired by the early brother duos of the genre, their tight harmonies and simple melodies are sure to bring back many memories of days gone by. The White Brothers can also be seen throughout the region performing as part of the High Knob Ramblers based out of Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
